A pilot project lead by philanthropist and humanitarian, Ken J. Rutherford presenting a dynamic rejuvenation strategy to the Yonge Street B.I.A., the building owners along Yonge St. and the general public.  The purpose of the project was to show how the street should be preserved for its heritage and legacy.  Located between Dundas St. and Gerrard St. on the west side of Yonge St. the majority of the buildings are in disarray with little to no maintenance performed.  With majority of the usage situated on the ground floors, the upper floors are unoccupied and are left to waste away with time.  As an advocate against developers to replace history, Mr. Rutherford made a stance to show that every building has financial gains if the billboards were taken down and the upper floors were rented to local businesses.  Regentrification over replacing to preserve the essence and history of Yonge Street is an ongoing campaign which has already reached thousands around the local community.
